Nic, at first I would like to say thank you very much for being part of this “Gimme 5 Special: Bass Player”! Here we go: My pleasure!
In which age did the music „catch“ you, and when did you start to play an instrument? ...once I was inside my mother's belly? ...quite difficult to say. I've been trying to play and sing since I have memories...
Did you choose the bass guitar as your instrument right away or did you check out one or more other ones at first? I don't, I've started with the clarinet joining the marching band of my home town at the age of nine.
How many bass guitars do you own, and which model is your favourite generally? I own six basses and one double bass. My "N I c 5 signature model" made by Loud Guitars is of course my favourite one, but I play the whole collection of mine because they cover the whole range of sounds I need to play live or to make records.
What do you think: is it a must for a bass player to have an especially hot sense of rhythm in his/her blood to deliver an ideal job? ;-) Of course, it's in our DNA. Being a pro bass player means to get the control of the rhythm and the harmonic side of the music at the same time. We are the glue which keeps the other instruments and lines together, the oil inside the engine called a band.

What is on the plan for you with Alto Voltaggio and your other projects in the next weeks/months? We have been booked to play six gigs in Norway in May/June and many other gigs are filling up our gigs list right now (take a look visiting us on www.altovoltaggio.net). I'm going to play some gigs with my ex-band mate in Jorn, the guitarist Tore St. Moren together with John Macaluso on drums and Lars Lind on the second guitar to promote the album just released and called Devilbird. Stockholm on the 2nd of May will be the kick off and another important date is the "R-Mine Metalfest" in Tongeren, Belgium, on the 22nd of June (Symphony X is headlining that day). Last but not least, my new band Khaøs soon will be ready with the first album (after the EP released the last October), stay tuned!
Thanks for your time. We wish you and your bands all the best! Thank you Sarkophag Rocks, stay in touch and talk to you soon ;-)
